Many of us got to spend time with our families, indulging in refreshments, music, beach toys and barbecue grills. All of that, thanks to truck drivers and their dedication to American culture. This week, September 9-15, we celebrate our truck drivers for everything they do for the American people and our economy.

Driving a truck is more than just operating an over-sized bucket-of-bolts. In the United States of America, being a truck driver means hard work and dedication, and a full-time commitment to providing all American families with the essentials we need, in all aspects of our lives, and everything we consume. In an economy like ours, hauling freight is one of the most important demands that many of us unknowingly take for granted. We forget what a luxury it is to be able to log on to a website and order what we need, or more importantly, walk into any store and find the products we need, right there on the shelves in front of us.

From the beautifully stocked produce in our grocery markets and the top-quality clothing we find in retail shops, to the state-of-the-art technology made available to us in Electronic Stores, Car Dealerships, and everything in between; we are fortunate enough to have these things readily available, all the time. Whatever it may be; the idea that products like this are available all around us, is a principal of American culture that we are more than blessed to experience, and we would not be able to experience this without the hard-working, safe-operating truck drivers of America. Thanks to them, many of us will never know what it’s like to have to grow and produce our own food, hand-sew our own clothing and provide ourselves with the entertainment we crave every day to get us through our busy lives. Truck drivers are constantly roving the country to provide for us these things, allowing us the ability to live our lives in comfort.

Owner Operators and drivers of Commercial Motor Vehicles mean more to us than we realize, and they must care a lot about us too, because they sacrifice so much for us. They trade much of their time spent at home with their families, their social lives and sometimes even their health to provide for us the products we need and make sure the goods we demand are delivered safely and accurately. Without truck drivers, our stores and the shelves inside them would be barren. American culture and society as we’ve known it it would never be the same. Truck drivers keep america moving, literally. Take some time to reflect on this; there has probably never been a day that you’ve driven to town and have not seen a truck on the road, headed to deliver goods for American families. These men and women not only deliver our goods securely and on-time, but they also do this safely, keeping our roads and highways safe while they haul thousands of pounds worth of merchandise. Truck drivers are on the road every day, chugging along beside us and our fast-moving cars. They are operating, regardless of what is happening in their personal lives and regardless of the weather, traffic conditions, and other drivers who play in to those traffic conditions. Always remember: without truck drivers, America stops.

This week and every September, we commemorate our American truck drivers. Although these special people deserve recognition every day of the year, we’d like to give a shout out to these hard working Americans and we hope to provide appreciation which they truly deserve but don’t always receive. Each and every truck driver has a unique story of their own; every person is different in their own way. While you’re out on the road this week, remember that the person in that big, scary cab beside you is more than a truck driver; they are also a father, a son, a mother, a daughter, a neighbor down the road and a friend to many. It might be a little intimidating if you find yourself driving beside them on the interstate, but the role that driver plays in our everyday lives is, by far, one of the most important to every American citizen, regardless of our age, ethnicity or cultural backgrounds. A truck driver is someone that all of us, no matter our unique circumstances, are lucky to have.

This week, Crosson Logistics, Landstar GAD Agency (an Independent agent of Landstar) is encouraging you to join us on our mission to show appreciation for our American truck drivers. We hope you will take a moment out of your busy schedules this week, and join us in thanking these important men and women who sacrifice so much to keep America moving. If you see a truck driver, either on the road, in a truck stop or anywhere they might be, please take advantage of the opportunity to shake their hand (if you can) and let them know you appreciate all that they do. Make sure they are reminded of their importance to everybody in our beautiful country and show your appreciation for their commitment to us, our comfort, and our fortune. A simple wave and a smile will carry them a long distance, and that’s beneficial to all of us.

From everyone here at Crosson Logistics and everyone else in the U.S., thanks truck drivers! You mean more to us than you know! Happy truckin’. Stay safe out there on the roads!
